PhD Writing Skills Workshops: This popular series of workshops has been specially designed to support the writing development of higher research degree candidates at Massey University. The workshops are presented and facilitated by learning advisors from the Centre for Learner Success who are experienced in supporting doctoral students through each stage of their writing process. In addition, there is a session facilitated by Massey University’s librarians that covers how to create and structure long documents, as well as tips on using Endnote.

PhD Writing Skills Workshop: Editing your thesis Online
Editing your thesis can be time consuming process and this workshop provides some helpful guidance on how to get an early start, as well as maintain the editing process throughout your writing-up journey. It looks at:
- Managing the revision process
- Key issues to focus on during editing
- Guides, tools & support for thesis editing
- Hints and tips on using Endnote

WRITING SKILLS – 2025 Overview
This popular series of workshops has been specially designed to support the writing development of higher research degree candidates at Massey University. The workshops are presented and facilitated by learning advisors from the Centre for Learner Success, who are experienced in supporting doctoral students through each stage of their writing process. The series for 2025 presents a diverse range of workshops, including the popular ‘Thesis with Publications’ panel session, and the introduction of a new session ‘Writing for Journals’.

Frequency: From March to November, the workshops will occur every third Wednesday of each month.

I have a history of working in the higher education industry. Currently, I work as a learning advisor to provide teaching and learning support for both students and educators at the tertiary level. Other skills include research design & ethics, lecturing & workshop facilitation, academic writing & study skills, as well as journal editing & writing for publication. Gained PhD in Geography from University of Waikato 2015.
